Preparing Form 146
Why does DTAA relief show a missing TRC or Form 41/10F warning?
With Documents activated and review suggestions enabled, DTAA relief selected as Yes can trigger TRC/Form 41 checks for payment/deduction dates.
Navigation: Open Forms 145/146 → Forms Dashboard → Form 146 List → editor → Taxability → Documents
How to do it
- In the Form 146 editor, read the document warning under the relevant DTAA section.
- Open Documents from the editor header and verify the remittee identity shown in the drawer.
- Review the TRC and Form 41/10F files and their valid-from/to dates against the dates named in the warning.
- Use Remittee documents → Add to upload missing evidence, or a file's More actions → Edit period / details to correct metadata.
- After upload/security checks complete, return to the form and review the warning again.
What to expect
The warning is a date-specific soft check; it does not automatically decide treaty eligibility or rewrite the form.
Important details
- The warning is controlled by both document activation and the review-suggestion preference.
- A pending/blocked file is not ready merely because its upload reached 100%.
